I now wish to make a second booking that would require about 500 more CPs than I have remaining, and it would make sense to "rent" the needed points. I used about half of the resulting CPs for a booking. My situation is that I did elect Abound for 2023 on one of my Vistana VOIs. Has anyone done this? Has anyone gotten a straight answer from Vistana/MVC on whether it's supposed to work and how to do it? (I'd feel a lot better if MVC would tell us what our member numbers are!) But I have no idea whether this would actually work or what the transferor would need to know in order to accomplish it. Among other things, transferring points requires the MVC member number of the recipient, and it's unclear whether the number that can be obtained by looking at the URL when linking to the MVC site from the Vistana dashboard is actually usable for points transfers. We were promised the ability to do so in some early Abound documents, but I'm not sure that anybody has figured out how to actually do so. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere I've seen it discussed without any clear answers.Ĭan Vistana owners with VOIs enrolled in Abound (and no ownership in MVC) transfer Club Points? More precisely, can Vistana owners with ownerships enrolled in Abound receive transferred club points from another owner? If they have not tried the food, ask them why. Have they actually tried it? If they have, what about it did they not like? Maybe they didn’t like how lumpy it was, or, maybe, the texture was strange to them. Identify a food your child says they do not like. So, try offering vegetable or fruit chips to match the crunchiness that they like. For example, your child may tell you they like how crunchy chips or pretzels are. Mention other foods that fit their descriptions, and make a plan to try a few of these new foods in a taste-testing experiment and include the whole family. What do they like about those foods? Try offering descriptive words like salty, crunchy, smooth, sweet, and warm. Knowing this can help you find new foods that may be similar to what they already enjoy and find pleasant to eat (AAP, 2018).Ĭonsider trying one of the strategies listed below: Have them describe the feeling or taste with words other than “yucky” or “gross” (Cleveland Clinic, 2022), so you both understand what they like and why they like it. Have them describe the different textures, smells, and tastes that they enjoy. Talk to them about what they like and why they like it. Have conversations about food with your child at times when you are not eating. Doing this allows everyone to focus on the social interaction they are experiencing, and bonding that can come as a result, and to shift their attention away from any negative thoughts about food. Try to focus on how that experience made each person feel, and allow the conversation to flow. Ask for each member to share one positive experience they had that day. Sit down in a specific place (e.g., kitchen table) that is away from screens for your family meals. Don’t mention worries or struggles around eating, just allow mealtime to be an engaging social time that encourages connection.Ĭonsider trying the strategy outlined below: Keep your conversation engaging, and focus on topics that your child is interested in. Instead, concentrate on the conversation, so your child can see that mealtimes are pleasant and positive times that do not need to be stressful or full of conflict. Try to stay positive and avoid becoming frustrated when your choosy eater insists on only eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches or pasta with butter night after night. Mealtimes can be a time for sharing and connecting. The good news is that there are strategies available to help you, the parent, encourage your older child to be more adventurous with food and to move towards eating a more balanced diet! Each tip, listed below, includes an example of how you can use the strategy presented and work with your adolescent to improve their food choices and eating habits. (Information on introducing solids can be found here!)īut, parents of adolescents, who are well beyond the introduction to solid foods, may be wondering what they can do if their child is a picky eater?! Maybe your adolescent has issues with or concerns about trying different foods, or, maybe, they only want to eat their favorite foods. Children are no different! The American Academy of Pediatrics (2018) suggests that parents should offer a variety of foods to their children when they start introducing solids. Everyone has preferences on what foods they enjoy and what foods they don’t like. Where to Find Anchors of Fog The Structure Of Niflheim For those new players or anybody looking to complete the game ahead of the release of God of War Ragnarok, this guide will explain where to find Anchors of Fog in the Niflheim maze and what these rare items are actually used for. Like many other former PS4 exclusives before it, Sony will be making the game available on PC, with players able to download it from January 14. Updated Octoby Tom Bowen: Almost four years on from its initial release, and God of War's PlayStation 4 exclusivity will soon be coming to an end. As well as Mist Echoes, players can also find Anchors of Fog, which they'll need to take on some of the realm's difficult Realm Tear challenges. The main goal is to survive this maze while collecting as many Mist Echoes as possible, which can later be used to craft and upgrade some of the best armor sets in God of War. The realm of Niflheim is procedurally generated, with its baseball field-shaped maze taking center stage. RELATED: Mythical Weapons Kratos Should Wield in the God of War: Ragnarok Sequel That said, Niflheim is an excellent place to grind for loot and also has plenty to offer when it comes to action as well. For instance, the realm of Niflheim is completely optional, with players able to complete the main story without ever stepping foot into its foggy maze. There are many realms for players to visit in the world of God of War, though it isn't actually a requirement to explore all of them. But I think the Fi is a lot of boat for the money. Todays boat prices are insane, no doubt about it. Both quick warranty fixes and to be expected on a hand made boat, regardless of who made it or what you paid. I chased a stereo interference noise for a bit, and a wiring harness popped off the engine and threw a code. With attention to stress and wear areas addressed, I have more confidence it will hold up. The interior vinyl looks to be a better install than the factory Tige stuff was. I don’t come across any screws or random bolts that seem out of place, installed poorly or dangerously. Having kids on the boat and allowing snacks, pieces fall into the channel and are a pain to get out. The flooring is a bit of a pain as the main area is removable and has a channel the entire way around the removable section. It is a bit easier to work on than my Tige, I’ve change the raw water and winterized it myself so far. Lots of components inside of a boat, but it seems well thought out. The routing of pumps, hoses, electrical is more simple and clean than my Tige was. The gelcoat and lines of the FI are very dramatic and I haven’t found any areas where they masked off wrong in the build process and goofed lines up. There are little to no rattles on my FI in rough water. The ballast design was terrible and I constantly chased issues. Lots of screws that came too close to the end of the plastic and eventually split and quit holding. It was a 2013 so things may have improved, but everything was held together with marine grade plastics and incorrect size or style of fasteners. I’ll never go back to Tige due to their lack of build quality. Being able to get in the water and up on the board and having to wait a minute or so for a great wave to form under your feet is pretty sweet. We are on a busy public lake and 15 minutes to fill could easily mean you become the 5th or 6th boat in line following each other down the side of the lake. We put about 100 hours on the boat last season so I had a decent amount of time in and around it cleaning and detailing.įor me, the big attraction was the ballast fill times. I purchased a 2020 Fi23 coming from a Tige Z3. Like you all, I don’t want to spend precious summer days broken down in the middle of a lake, and wasting what few summers I have left with them with a boat in the shop.Īppreciate your time in responding, as well as your insight and perspective. I feel paying north of 100K is great money, and I want the boat to be commensurate with that price in terms of quality and reliability. I don’t mind paying great money for great things. Would you buy a Centurion (especially an Fi) again? If not, what would you rather have for around $125K?.How would you rate build quality (squeaks, rattles, screws backing out, seat hinges, integrity of things bolted to the boat, racks, gelcoat etc.) compared to other makes?.What issues have you had (especially in the Fi series)?.Understanding all boats are going to have a few issues here and there, how reliable has your centurion been compared to other boats you’ve owned, or compared to boats owned by those you know? I’ve read a couple horror stories in your forum about the Ri line.Several questions for the centurion boat owners out there, especially those with an Fi23: Dealer (Utah Watersports) is close and provides excellent service. As my whole family has grown to love surfing, I think we’re due for an upgrade/update, though my wallet is pissed at me for saying that-we’re currently not talking. She puts out a decent wave, but it takes forever to fill (even with bigger pumps installed), and the wave could definitely be longer/taller with a larger sweet spot. We have a 2006 Mastercraft x30 with go surf assist and ~1800 lbs plug and play ballast in the rear lockers. I’m new to the forum, and to centurion boats. Picking out priority targets early is important, knocking down enemies like snipers or ensnaring web drones before they can strike and leave you vulnerable, all while choosing to take the fight somewhere you can dodge behind asteroids to get cover between your lone fighter and heavier enemy ships. Enemies are numerous, and on most difficulties can overwhelm you if you're not careful – it's all about positioning and approach. But honestly, you're not playing Everspace 2 for the dialogue, you're playing it for the spaceships blowing up – which it does pretty dang well.įlying around is smooth, with nary a technical hitch or slowdown in sight delivering a classic adaptation of generally short-range dogfights where you rock-paper-scissors your equipped damage types to optimize against enemy shields and armor. There's even a great "story so far" log for those who take big breaks between game sessions-so it feels like a waste that characters spend so much time on empty dialogue or redundant explanations. Characters have conversations as you jump at high speed from encounter to encounter within systems, and you pick up missions from the same people over and over. It's kind of a shame, really, because you do spend a lot of time in this world. The writing and characters are something between stiff and disposable – though there are a few winners and good gags, my favorite among them being a broken garbage-disposal robot. You might be happy about that if you loved the story in the first one, and you might be a bit confused at times if you skipped it, but there's a cache of really thorough – if largely forgettable – log entries to bring you up to speed on the story and world you're dumped into. That's all to say Everspace 2 is pretty different from the original, though it is a direct sequel in terms of story: You're one of those clone pilots you played as in the first one's roguelite framework, but there's no more coming back from the dead. Making up for the odd wonky performance and stiffly choreographed fight are neat roles for I’ll-be-in-anything stalwarts David Warner, John Rhys-Davies and Patrick Macnee who delightfully chew the scenery while they pick up an easy paycheck and it’s a legitimate joy to have them and even the director steps in by humbly cameoing as an English Prince. It’s this relentlessly adolescent mindset that allows the movie to sail through it’s weaker moments (there’s a good chance they gathered up the test audience for this movie from a creche), the sets all suspiciously look the same size whether it’s a remote cabin in the woods, a vampire’s basement or a Mummy’s tomb and the Marquis De Sade segment (fittingly) looks like it was shot on a dodgy porn set, but 80’s horror is all about stretching your vision beyond your means. Hoovering up as much of said budget as he can is Hellraiser and Dog Soldiers special effects guru Bob Keen who unleashes an army of rubbery creatures, a gorgeous fucking werewolf and some impressive gore effects which sees a Mummy stamping out a dude’s skull like a cigarette, or some luckless schmuck getting spectacularly torn right down the middle by a lycanthope. You can tell that the director is having huge fun giving all these classic monsters and maniacs an absurd makeover and the idea of giving each creature it’s own little vignette turns out to be pretty inspired as it breaks the film up and allows it to play with differing styles in a hugely entertaining way despite an obviously limiting budget. The concept is utter nonsense, the leads are noticably too old to be average college teens (Gilligan was 24 for Christ’s sake) and the plotting feels like the script was roughed out in biro on a napkin, but there’s something genuinely endearing about this strange little film with an even stranger concept. When that decision leads to a suspicious detective getting buried alive by a Mummy in an Egyptian tomb (a somewhat novel way to get taken down while working a case to be sure), the two “teens” try to take measures into their own hands armed with a bundle of exposition from family friend Sir Wilfred, and so they attempt to save the world while avoiding the snapping teeth of zombies or the snapping whip of the Marquis De Sade who’s display areas both still need victims…Įven taking into account that Waxwork is Anthony Hickox’s first film in a subsequent career of 90’s horror sequels, there’s a noticable, rough around the edges, anything-goes aspect about the supremely dorky Waxwork that I’ve always found oddly appealing. Tony and China get taken out first, by getting nibbled on by a werewolf and Dracula respectively, but Mark and Sarah managed to leave without suspecting that their friend list has dropped sharply by two, but soon get paranoid that they’ve been kidnapped and boiled in wax or whatever (they wish) and try to get the police involved. Every effigy is of an evil creature throughout history and to step into the display means you get magically transported into a pocket dimention where if the creature kills you in it’s themed scenario then it owns your soul and if Lincoln manages to get a victim for each of his 18 displays then everything will come to life and spread their evil across the globe. Rounding off their little group is mousey virgin Sarah and mouthy jokester Tony and one night they all choose to visit a mysterious Waxworks that, for some reason, has opened up in the middle of the neighbourhood and that is run by the sinister David Lincoln (we know he’s sinister because he’s played by David Warner), but this is no ordinary waxwork. His butler (yes, butler) sneaks him the coffee and cigarettes that his mother has banned him from and he’s constantly feuding with China, his on again, off again girlfriend who recently has currently announced they are “off” by dating the head of the football team. Mark is a rich kid making his way through life while dealing with his petty problems. And it’s via these frequencies that your phone is able to transmit information. Your carrier - especially if you’re with a major one - uses a range of frequencies. This is usually done automatically for you when you sign up with a carrier. In order for your cell phone to work, it needs to have access to the frequency bands that your carrier uses. Cellular Phone Frequency Bands: How Do They Work?Īfter all that, let’s talk about your phone the one you’re likely holding right now. So, if a carrier wants to have the most reliable network possible, they seek to gain as many licenses throughout the RF spectrum as possible. Though it may seem counterintuitive on the surface, lower frequency bands are better for metropolitan, urban areas. They are much better at penetrating obstacles but have lower data transmission rates. High frequencies can transmit data faster than low frequencies, but they can’t penetrate obstacles (buildings, hills, trees) as well, and they can’t travel as far. In other words, bands are not exclusive to one carrier, but channels are (or at least can be, depending on the license).īecause these various channels are located on different sections of the RF spectrum, naturally some of them consist of low frequencies and some of them are high frequencies. Some bands are used by multiple carriers, but by allotting particular channels of use per carrier, they can use the same band without interference. The reason it is set up this way is to avoid carriers interfering with each other. These small sections are referred to as channels or blocks (either term is acceptable). In most cases, when a cellular carrier is given license to a particular band, a small section of that band is all the carrier is allowed to use. In order for a cellular carrier to use a given cellular band, they need a license for it, which is given by the FCC. Why Do Cellular Carriers Use Multiple Frequencies? The 700 MHz frequency, for instance, includes all frequencies between 699 MHz and 798 MHz. One thing to remember is that a band represents many frequencies - not just one - as is sometimes mistakenly assumed. The carrier and device you use determines what specific frequencies your personal device is linked to for your service. The majority of cellular bands are between 600 MHz and 39 GHz, which is part of the RF spectrum, as previously mentioned. These two agencies divide the spectra into what we call bands (multiple ranges of frequencies). In an attempt to organize spectrum and frequency use in America, the US government tasks the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) and the NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration) with This is where all cellular frequencies fall. For example, the spectrum that comprises the range from 3 kHz to 300 GHz is called the RF spectrum. We categorize frequencies into groups called spectrums. If they’re moving slowly, these are lower frequencies. If the sound waves are moving fast, these are higher frequencies. Cellular Phone Frequency Bands: What Are They?Īs you may remember from high school science, the number of sound waves that occur per second is the definition of a frequency. All of this information proves very helpful, for instance, to people thinking about switching carriers or to people who are in the market for a new device. Some devices are compatible with certain radio frequencies and not others. Not every provider uses the same frequencies. Certain bandwidths and networks may serve your area better than others. But this knowledge is very helpful to technology nerds and lay-people alike. And it can’t connect to a mobile network without radio frequencies.įor many consumers out there, the technology and importance of radio waves as pertaining to their cell phone is out of sight/out of mind. Your smartphone must connect to a mobile network in order to browse the web, stream videos, send text messages, and make calls. Of all the individual technologies and components that allow your smartphone to function, radio waves are perhaps the most important. This updated cellular phone frequency bands guide explains this information simply as well as how this knowledge is helpful to everyone who uses a cell phone. Most people use their smartphone every day without truly knowing what makes its functionality possible. For many consumers out there, the technology and importance of radio waves to cell phones is out of sight/out of mind.
